2015 U.S. Venture Open to host Coach Bo Ryan
All funds raised support the Fund for Basic Needs
Appleton, Wis. — U.S. Venture, Inc. is pleased to announce Coach Bo Ryan as this year’s featured guest at its 30th annual U.S. Venture Open. The event is Northeast Wisconsin’s single largest one-day charitable event dedicated to fighting poverty and will be held on Wednesday, August 12.
“I am excited to partner with U.S. Venture this summer at their signature fundraiser, the U.S. Venture Open,” Ryan said. “Their track record in addressing the root causes of poverty is unparalleled, and I’m honored to be a part of their efforts.”
Ryan is the all-time winningest coach for collegiate basketball at University of Wisconsin-Madison. Off the court, Ryan is active in supporting the American Cancer Society, the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), the UW Children’s Hospital and the Memorial Veterans Hospital. His honorarium will be donated to the Coaches vs. Cancer organization where he has raised over $2.5 million to support the American Cancer Society.

U.S. Venture underwrites all costs of the event and has done so since the inception. “We are honored to continue making this investment in our community,” said John Schmidt, President of U.S. Venture, Inc. “Our support ensures that 100% of the funds raised go to the U.S. Venture Fund for Basic Needs to end poverty in Northeast Wisconsin.”
In 2014, the U.S. Venture Open raised over $3 million, including the J. J. Keller Foundation $800,000 match with funds going to the U.S. Venture Fund for Basic Needs. Funds from the event are held within the Community Foundation for the Fox Valley Region, the Greater Green Bay Community Foundation and the Oshkosh Area Community Foundation, with grants made to nonprofit organizations in the communities served by those foundations.
